Surrounded by tall, sheer mountains lies the bay of Sjeyndir. This unique, isolated little bay is surrounded by tall, sheer mountains and sea caves. This bay is located on the opposite side of a mountain to the village of Tjørnuvík. When sailing to Sjeyndir, we meet and sail from Eiði. Sjeyndir is the setting in the famous Fareose crime novel “Blíð er summarnátt á Føroya landi.” The sea cliffs you see on this tour are rough yet beautiful. You will also see Risin og Kellingin (The Giant and the Witch), the most famous sea stacks in the Faroe Islands. There are many sea caves that we sail through if the weather permits us to do so. These are among the longest sea caves in the world. It’s common to see puffins, seals and small whales. We sail every Friday at 13:00. If it’s bad weather at Sjeyndir, we can usually offer another tour in the Faroe Islands. Online booking for this tour close at 23:00 the day before the tour. However, if spaces are available you can call 00298 268984 to book after 23:00.
